WiFi SPARK's Charity of the Year 2023 - Cats Protection

Each year, WiFi SPARK votes a charity to raise money for across the year, with previous years seeing us fundraise for St Petrock’s and Alzheimer’s Society. This year, it was the UK’s leading feline welfare charity, Cats Protection that won the company poll.

Cats Protection has been working hard to improve the lives of cats for nearly 100 years and homing over an incredible 1.5 million of them. They also offer cat adoption, rehoming, and neutering assistance as well as help and advice to cat owners and cat lovers.

As a leading animal welfare charity, their vision is a world where every cat is treated with kindness, and the team at WiFi SPARK couldn’t agree more.

Their strategy is focused on giving every cat their best possible life, and these four important goals are focused around their welfare:

  • Ensure that all sheltered cats (not just those which have been taken into their care) have a good welfare experience.
  • To improve the quality of life of all owned cats
  • To ensure all feral cats (unsocialised and unowned) are treated appropriately.
  • Finally, the fourth goal commits them to continue and develop their neutering programme to ensure the UK cat population is balanced to improve cat welfare.

WiFi SPARK puts people at the heart of the business, but we believe all furry friends deserve care and a loving home too. The charity is close to many of our colleagues on a personal level, including CEO, Matt O'Donovan, and Marketing Director, Rebecca O'Donovan.

We’re thrilled to be able to support and fundraise throughout this year to help as much as possible. Our target is £2,000 but we hope with generous supporters, we will smash this target.

With the working office environment back in full swing, we are planning to have many jumble sales, raffles, plus the return of Cats Protection’s Pawsome Tea Party, Inflatable 5K obstacle run, as well as volunteering days at the local adoption centre in Exeter.

Keep an eye out on Twitter to see our latest fundraising efforts and updates. If you're an animal lover like us, and would like to contribute to our pot, please feel free to donate via our JustGiving link below.

No matter how big or small, your help will be greatly appreciated and together, we can work towards a world where every cat is treated with the love and kindness they deserve.
