Celebrations abound at WiFi SPARK this week as the team successfully passes an audit of their ISO 27001 certification with flying colours.
The British Assessment Bureau spent three days auditing the WiFi SPARK business for their Information Security Management qualification ISO 27001. It is an internationally recognised accreditation that lays down rigorous standards for information security. Applicants must prove they have robust systems and procedures in place to satisfy the requirements at all levels within the organisation.
The benefits of certification to ISO 27001 include:
- Proves to clients an organisation keeps their information secure
- Achieves operational excellence
- Minimises risk of potential data security breaches
- Protects reputation
- Reduces errors and costs
- Increases business profitability
- Engage employees
Ian Lynch, Chief Operating Officer for WiFi SPARK said, “ISO 27001 is an invaluable certification for a business such as ours to hold. The volume of cybercrime is increasing and we ensure that our staff are all able to recognise potential information security threats and act appropriately through regular training, a structured information security management system and a dedicated InfoSec team.”
Lynch continued, “The auditor was very complimentary about our approach and the thoroughness of our documentation. He said our Statement of Applicability was in his Top 2 of SOAs that he has ever seen.”
WiFi SPARK was first awarded the ISO 27001 qualification in 2019. The company also holds the certification for ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems.
Lynch concluded: “This certification offers our clients the reassurance that WiFi SPARK maintains customer information to the highest standards. We are a market-leader in WiFi, Analytics and Entertainment and we take our responsibilities for their data management very seriously.”
